2 weeks after my birthday, we were finally able to have our family birthday dinner celebration tonight! My mom was able to come to dinner with us at Cheesecake Factory and we had a terrific time! My mom, dad, gramma, Aunt Debbie, Uncle Ed, cousin Shira, Cousins Joel and Susan, and my great aunt Rae and great uncle Manny all joined me tonight and we had a really fun night! My Uncle Ed asked me if I got what I wanted for my birthday and I told him - yes, without a doubt. To have my mom be able to be there across the table from me to celebrate was the best present ever. We have a long road ahead of us, but it is the little moments like tonight that help to "keep swimming".
I uploaded a picture of mom from tonight! For those of you who remember seeing her just a little over a month ago in the ICU will be floored to see the difference! I still cannot believe it when I look at the picture I uploaded from the morning she woke up and got off the respirator. Thank you all so much for your love and support -- we could not do this without you!
